  • Song of the Irish Brigade (Confederate) Music: David Kincaid Song of the Irish Brigade Paintings: Don Troiani (Drive them to Washington/Altoona Pass/Little Round Top) Lyrics: Oh, not now for songs of a nation's wrongs, not the groans of starving labor; Let the rifle ring and the bullet sing to the clash of the flashing sabre! There are Irish ranks on the tented banks of Columbia's guarded ocean; And an iron clank from flank to flank tells of armed men in motion. And frank souls there clear true and bare To all, as the steel beside them, Can love or hate withe the strength of Fate, Till the grave of the valiant hide them. Each seems to be mailed Ard Righ, whose sword's avenging glory Must light the fight and smite for Right, Like Brian's in olden story! With pale affright and panic flight Shall dastard Yankees base and hollow, Hear a Celtic race, from their battle place, Charge to the shout of "Faugh-a-ballaugh!" By the sould above, by the land we love Her tears bleeding patience The sledge is wrought that shall smash to naught The brazen liar of nations. The Irish green shall again be seen as our Irish fathers bore it, A burning wind from the South behind, and the Yankee rout before it! O'Neil's red hand shall purge the land- Rain a fire on men and cattle, Till the Lincoln snakes in their own cold lakes Plunge from the blaze of battle. The knaves that rest on Columbia's breast, and the voice of true men stifle; we'll exorcise from the rescued prize- Our talisman, the rifle; For a tyrant's life a bowie knife ...
  • Darkthrone - Earth's Last Picture From the 1996 album "Total Death". Origin: Norway (Kolbotn) Lyrics: We sail the seas, of negativity to banish kindness from this place (Sans scruples, sans humility) To behold the fierceness of wolves assailing ye saints thoroughly (Sans love, sans compassion) To behold the wails of thine in affright whilst evil preyeth upon thy hearts (Sans warmth, sans pity) To behold a world, darkly astir rising in madness and mystery (sans light, sans life) Would ye not rather fall into pleasant reverie Than to tremble amidst, this old memory? Alas for the damned thou art...now ye behold! Tis the rise of satanic divinity... Oh we rejoice at the destruction of all ye have ever lived for... Hark! as lands tremble, and empires fall Ye may hear us laugh with sardonic wrath (tis the voices from the past) Aye we can not mourn, for never morrow shall dawn World without end...

  • She loves and she confesses too The original song to Michael Nymans "The Disposition of the Linen" (from "The Draughtsman's Contract") from Henry Purcell, interpreted here by "The Dowland Project" (John Potter et al.). Some of my favourites, both are marvelous! Words: Abraham Cowley (1618-1667) She loves and she confesses too, There's then at last no more to do; The happy work's entirely done, Enter the town which thou hast won; The fruits of conquest now begin, Lo, triumph, enter in. What's this, ye Gods? What can it be? Remains there still an enemy? Bold Honour stands up in the gate, And would yet capitulate. Have I o'ercome all real foes, And shall this phantom me oppose? Noisy nothing, stalking shade, By what witchcraft wert thou made, Thou empty cause of solid harms? But I shall find out counter charms, Thy airy devilship to remove From this circle here of love Sure I shall rid myself of thee By the night's obscurity, And obscurer secrecy; Unlike to ev'ry other spright Thou attempt'st not men to affright Nor appear'st but in the light.
  • Were the world mine - Pyramus and Thisby + Lyrics the song by "frankie" (zelda williams) which is played in the movie "were the world mine" Lyrics: Gentles, perchance you wonder at this show; But wonder on, till truth make all things plain. This man is Pyramus, if you would know; This beauteous lady Thisby is certain. By moonshine did these lovers think no scorn Met at a tomb to woo by pale moonlight. This grisly beast, which Lion hight by name, The trusty Thisby, coming first by night, Did scare away, or rather did affright... If we offend, we've got good will, If we our crude, our measure's plain Our true intent is your delight It's merry, tragical and brief... Oh Pyramus...Pyramus...loved Thisby And as she fled, her mantle she did fall, Which Lion vile with bloody mouth did stain, Anon comes Pyramus, sweet youth, and tall, And finds his trusty Thisby's mantle slain, Da da da da da da da da da da Whereat with blade, with bloody blameful blade, He bravely broach'd his boiling bloody breast, Thus he died, He died, he died, His soul in the sky... Now Thisby's passion ends the play in tears, Asleep, My Dear? What, Dead, My Dove? Arise! Tongue not a word, Come blade my breast imbrue, Thus Thisby end, adieu, adieu, Adieu, adieu, adieu, adieu, adieu, adieu, adieu, If we offend, we've got good will, If we our crude, our measure's plain Our true intent is your delight It's merry, tragical and brief... Oh Pyramus...Pyramus...loved Thisby Da da da da da da da da da da Oh Pyramus...Pyramus...loved Thisby
  • Medtner - La Campanella 2010 Medtner's famous toccata, "La Campanella," or "The Bells," from Two Fairy Tales, op.20. Filmed by Tim Conway, Legion Filmworks LLC. Thanks to Cleveland State University for the use of Drinko Hall. From Edgar Allen Poe: Hear the loud alarum bells Brazen bells! What a tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells! In the startled ear of night How they scream out their affright! Too much horrified to speak, They can only shriek, shriek, Out of tune, In a clamorous appealing to the mercy of the fire, In a mad expostulation with the deaf and frantic fire, Leaping higher, higher, higher, With a desperate desire, And a resolute endeavor, Now - now to sit or never, By the side of the pale-faced moon. Oh, the bells, bells, bells! What a tale their terror tells Of Despair! How they clang, and clash, and roar! What a horror they outpour On the bosom of the palpitating air! Yet the ear it fully knows, By the twanging, And the clanging, How the danger ebbs and flows: Yet the ear distinctly tells, In the jangling, And the wrangling, How the danger sinks and swells, By the sinking or the swelling in the anger of the bells Of the bells Of the bells, bells, bells, bells, Bells, bells, bells In the clamor and the clangor of the bells!

  • Chinese Animation OST:Affright in the Darkness Thestory of Ying Zheng, the First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), has been adapted time and again for both screen and stage. In the last interpretation, this controversial figure is singing Western opera. Now a three-dimensional cartoon series named The Bright Moon of Qin is profiling a young and handsome ruler. People still show a great interest in that period of time, because the reign of Ying Zheng has left profound influence on our life, like the unification of Chinese characters, currencies and measurements. To escape the murder commanded by the First Emperor, Ge Nie, a top swordsman, embarked on a dangerous adventure with Jin Tianming, the only son of his old friend. Li Si, the prime minister, persuaded Wei Zhuang, Ge's ambitious and treacherous fellow disciple, to kill the two fugitives and the fight between the righteous and the evil unfolds. The plot is derived from the idea of Sayling Wen, late Taipei-based entrepreneur and writer. An enthusiast of the wuxia (martial arts) literature since childhood, Wen spent his past few years writing the historical-and-martial art series The Bright Moon of Qin. He had only completed the first part The Episode of Jin Ke before he died in 2004. But he had the ...

Reap! Kiss of Death! Lips envenomed Devil's breath Beneath mistletoe sharpened we shall meet A unit to extinguish the failure of the primordial touch The kiss of death My love shall last 'til death do me part For thee, ye children of my heart Ye glass of swiftly running sand Ye harvester, ye cold white hand The yearning has been with me always To tread inside your timeless hallways To know thy scent and taste thy flavour To sense thy grasp, oh reaping saviour Shapes without form Voices without sound Enter ye pale lord of sorrow Kiss of death Lips envenomed Devil's breath Beneath the waning crescent, we shall meet Eager and fearless shall I receive the final touch The kiss of death! Why yawns that shagged cave, whose dreary womb Ne'er felt the genial sun's enliv'ning ray? Black, noisome, cheerless, Lo! how all around, With feeble cries the gliding spectres throng! Hark! now I hear, with hollow trem'lous sounds, The solemn mutter'd spell and horrid magic song. Save me! what wither'd forms my soul affright! Quartet: By the pale light of yon blue fire I know their scowling fronts and wild attire. Recitative - Fearful Observer: See, through the glimmering darkness of the cave, By paddock warn'd, their rites they sing, And slowly stalk in dismal ring Around the charmed cauldron's bubbling wave. • Remembering The World Trade Center and 9/11 (Gorecki Symphony #3) This is a video I created several years ago to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. I used an excerpt from the 1st movement of Gorecki's Symphony #3. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to use Gorecki's Symphony #3 (Symphony of Sorrowful Songs) for this video. Most people are familar with the David Zinman recording with Dawn Upshaw. In the original version of my video, I used that version. But one day I was listening to the version by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra featuring soprano Susan Gritton, and I found that I liked it better. There's an urgency in the strings that's reminiscent of bells ringing, and it reminded me of the poem by Edgar Allan Poe, "The Bells," which contains this verse: Hear the loud alarum bells - Brazen bells! What a tale of terror, now, their turbulency tells! In the startled ear of night How they scream out their affright! Too much horrified to speak, They can only shriek, shriek, Out of tune, In a clamorous appealing to the mercy of the fire, In a mad expostulation with the deaf and frantic fire, Leaping higher, higher, higher, With a desperate desire, And a resolute endeavor Now - now to sit or never, By the side of the pale-faced moon. The title is "The grave digger" and this song is from the album "The grave digger" (yea Grave Digger again and again, can never be enough!), which came out on 2001. You can see the lyrics below. Enjoy metalheads! ** LYRICS ** Six feet under, I'm still alive Six feet under, I've found my paradise When I left, the skies were sober I took this shrine last October In this house of gloom and glory I'm living now and tell my story I've sold my soul, I've lived a lie Come and hear my silent cry In the silence of the night Where I shiver with affright I reflect these wasted years When I played with hopes and fears He took my life, I've lost control He killed my wife, he sold my soul The grave is open, the digger smiles He takes me under the deadly skies The grave digger I'm shouting, crying, I feel the pain I'm shouting, dying, I'm nameless brain The chains of lies, no chance for heaven All my sins are unforgiven From time to time I'm going insane I feel the hunger in my veins To kill this nightmare in my head And to save me from the dead In the silence of the night Where I shiver with affright I reflect these wasted years When I played with hopes and fears He took my life, I've lost control He killed my wife, he sold my soul The grave is open, the digger smiles He takes me under the deadly skies The grave digger, the grave digger From time to time I'm going insane I feel the hunger in my veins To kill this nightmare ...

  • Henry Purcell - she loves and she confesses too Z.413 .wmv She loves and she confesses, too Abraham Cowley (1618-1667) She loves and she confesses too, There's then at last no more to do; The happy work's entirely done, Enter the town which thou hast won; The fruits of conquest now begin, Lo, triumph, enter in. The King's Consort Susan Gritton
  • GOD IS NOT YOUR ENEMY Don't be affright of God - be affright TO SIN. God is not your enemy - sin is. God will not kill you - your sin will kill you. God will not torment you for the eternity in the lake of fire - your sin will. There is only one sin - disobedience to God. Everything else is just derivative from it. There is only one retaliation for sin - death. Derivative from sin is death.

  • God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen - sung by Jack Marti The lyrics of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen are traditional olde English and are reputed to date back to the 15th century although the author is unknown.. It is believed that this particular carol was sung to the gentry by town watchmen who earned additional money during the Christmas season. The lyrics to this simple carol are reputed to be one of the oldest carols. God rest ye merry, gentlemen Let nothing you dismay Remember, Christ, our Saviour Was born that glorious day To save us all from Satan's power When we were gone astray O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy In Bethlehem, in Israel, This blessed Babe was born And laid within a manger Upon this blessed morn Of which His Mother Mary Did nothing take in scorn O tidings ... From God our Heavenly Father A blessed Angel came; And unto certain Shepherds Brought tidings of the same: How that in Bethlehem was born The Son of God by Name. O tidings ... "Fear not then," said the Angel, "Let nothing you affright, This day is born a Saviour Of a pure Virgin bright, To free all those who trust in Him From Satan's power and might." O tidings ... The shepherds at those tidings Rejoiced much in mind, And left their flocks a-feeding In tempest, storm and wind: And went to Bethlehem straightway The Son of God to find. O tidings ... And when they came to Bethlehem Where our dear Saviour lay, They found Him in a manger, Where oxen feed on hay; His Mother Mary kneeling down, Unto the Lord did pray ...
  • Die Verbannten Kinder Evas - In Darkness Let Me Dwell This one is from their album 'In Darkness Let Me Dwell' I wanted to reform some of the sentences, and ended up to do it all over again, but well, this is a very good song, one of my own DVKE fav.s, that's for sure, lyrics are also fantastic, and speaking of which, here you go. Enjoy! - Oerath. Sorrow, stay! Lend true repentant tears To a woeful wretched wight. Hence, despair with thy tormenting fears 0' do not my poor heart affright.
