  • Eucharistic Miracles Eucharistic Miracles Copyright: Dr. Joseph Mizzi Used with permission Question: The Catholic Church teaches that during consecration at the Mass, the bread and wine are changed into the Body and Blood of Jesus. You disputed this. How do you explain countless Eucharistic miracles that have occurred (for example, see the book 'Eucharistic Miracles' by Joan Carroll Cruz)? Answer: There are numerous reports of miracles in which the bread was changed into human flesh and the wine changed into blood. It is claimed that these miracles were verified by observation and even laboratory tests. Now, the Catholic Church teaches that only the SUBSTANCE is changed while the bread and wine remain in APPEARANCE: If any nies that wonderful and singular conversion of the whole substance of the bread into the Body, and of the whole substance of the wine into the Blood - THE SPECIES (APPEARANCE) ONLY OF THE BREAD AND WINE REMAINING - which conversion indeed the Catholic Church most aptly calls Transubstantiation; let him be anathema (Council of Trent) Notice that the appearance of bread and wine remains. Thus, if the 'species' (appearance) of the bread is changed into flesh and the 'species' of the wine is changed into blood, as witnessed by the people who confirm the miracle, then it is NOT transubstantiation. Not according to the official Catholic definition. The appearance ought to remain of bread and wine. Rather than proving the Catholic doctrine, the ...

  • Benedict XVI: Eucharist is Source of Communion in Today's World The Eucharist, constantly forming in the Church, also creates fellowship among men. This was stated by the Pope today, speaking at the Plenary of the Committee for International Eucharistic Congresses. The Committee is currently preparing for the next Congress in Dublin in 2012, which will take place on the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council. The Pope said the task of Eucharistic Congresses, especially in the current context, is to make a distinctive contribution to the new evangelization, the school of the Church in prayer, on the basis of the liturgy and through the liturgy. "But every Congress also contains a new evangelising impulse in a more strictly missionary sense, so much so that ...
  • Benedict XVI: Intensify Eucharistic Adoration In the Eucharist we experience the fundamental transformation of violence into love, of death into life; the Body and Blood of Christ are offered so that we ourselves may in turn be transformed. Benedict XVI reiterated this in his speech to the participants of the Plenary Assembly of the Congregation for Divine Worship, during which he also emphasized the importance of being vigilant against the dangers of deviating from a correct use of the liturgy. The Pope requested that Eucharist adoration be intensified through a greater awareness of this mystery, in complete fidelity to Sacred Tradition, and through the enrichment of our communities liturgical life. Furthermore, the Plenary Assembly addressed th ...
  • Pope: Beware of 'formal and empty' Eucharistic worship Faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist cannot be taken for granted. This was Benedict XVIs admonition during his homily of the Mass for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which he celebrated in front of the Basilica of St. John Lateran on Thursday evening, June 11th.Benedict XVI: Today there arises the risk of a serpentine secularization even within the Church, which can convert into a formal and empty Eucharistic worship, in celebrations lacking this participation from the heart that is expressed in veneration and respect for the liturgy. The temptation is always strong to reduce prayer to superficial and hurried moments, letting oneself be carried away by earthly activities and worrie ...

  • Miraculous Eucharist.flv The image of Jesus appears above the Holy Host in the Adoration room of the Mother Ignacia Healing Center B in Bagombong, Caloocan City, Philippines. It occurred 2 days before the Feast Day of St. Joseph, whose image likewise appears on the left of Jesus' image. The healing center is known for miraculous cures especially of cancer-stricken patients, but the main focus of the center is to encourage people to develop an intimate friendship with the Lord. The adoration room has made it possible for many to experience Him. Sr. Gloria Ross, RVM, the main healer in the center, receives messages from the Lord, one of which is, "When the dancing sun burst, the sun is not the sun anymore but the Eucharist with its rod, one end connected Above and the other end planted on the ground with radium granules distributed by the Holy Spirit for cure of the sick.. He who believes is strong, he who doubts is weak." Numerous images of light also appear which represents the radium granules from Heaven. But on the first Saturday of May 2010, month of Mary, some of the frequenters of the center expressed doubts over the miraculous sightings in the compound captured in videos, particularly the Eucharistic Rod in the sun. During the day's procession of Our Lady of Fatima around the compound, Edith A. Moreno, the center's official videographer, was astounded when the Eucharist started to detach Itself from the sun. "....He who believes is strong, he who doubts is weak."

  • The Holy Eucharist: Real Presence Real Power (Part 2) Visit us on Facebook at 100 (Discussion continued from Part 1 of this video) The truth is that Jesus was not speaking figuratively. If you read all of John Chapter 6, you will see that Jesus also performed two other great miracles. The miracle of the multiplication of loaves and fish and walking on water are performed by Jesus the day before he tells everyone about the Eucharist. That is because he knew this teaching would shock them. He was trying to prepare his disciples for the miracle to come. If the disciples were merely walking away from Jesus and not because of this message of the Eucharist, then why did some disciples say, "This saying is hard; who can accept it" and Jesus respond "Does this shock you" (John 6:60-61). Remember, this is the first and only time that his own disciples actually left him and returned to their former way of life. My response to people who say that Catholics made up the Eucharist is usually the same for other things that they say that Catholics made up. Go and read the writings of the early church fathers from the first, second, and third centuries and see what they believed. The people that either directly or indirectly knew Jesus. When it comes to the Eucharist, I think you will find that they are all unanimous in their belief in the real presence of Jesus. Saint Paul says in a letter to the Corinthians "Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and ...
  • The Eucharist in Aramaic (Maronite Liturgy) The Eucharist in the Maronite mass is always chanted in Aramaic, regardless of what the mass language is (Aramaic, Arabic, French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.). Below is the English translation: On the day before his life-giving passion, Jesus took bread in his holy hands. He blessed, sanctified, broke, and gave it to his disciples saying: Take and eat it, all of you: This is my body which is broken and delivered for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Amen Likewise he blessed the cup of wine mixed with water, sanctified, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and drink from it, all of you: This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed and handed over for you and for many, for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Amen
  • THE EUCHARIST (part 1 of 3) In many ways, Our Lord, is calling us to worship and receive Him in the Eucharist. He speaks this desire in many ways: through the Pope and the Magisterium of the Church, in the Bible (Jn. 6), through his Blessed Mother in approved Marian apparitions, through the testimonies of Saints and Martyrs, through Eucharistic miracles, through Church approved messages given by Jesus by Divine Revelation, through our souls who long for Jesus in Communion, and through our suffering world which is in much need of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.
  • The Eucharist, the living bread come down from heaven The Blessed Virgin Mary was once again the subject for reflections in Benedict XVIs Angelus address this Sunday, delivered to a packed court yard the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo. The Pope spoke of Mary in connection with the passage from the Gospel of John offered by the liturgy of the day. John in fact repeats the words of Christ: "I am the living bread come down from heaven. He who eats of this bread will live forever, the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world. The Pope said God needed Mary to take on human form, to enter into our mortal condition, and that He in turn gives us His body in the sacrament of the Eucharist, as an instrument of eternal life. Pope Benedi ...

  • Eucharistic Miracle in France? On November 7, 1999 a solemn Mass was held in the minor Basilica of Lourdes. The Archbishop of Lyon at the time, the late Cardinal Billé, was the celebrant and concelebrating with him were the archbishop of France, Cardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger, a number of French bishops, a number of priests and all the superiors of Trappist monasteries worldwide. The ceremony was broadcast live on French television. On the altar were two hosts to be consecrated, much larger than those used by Italian priests, as is customary in France. At the beginning of the Mass, the two hosts appear in the film to be stacked one above the other, so that one cannot tell that their are two instead of one: they are resting on the paten, a type of tray, and are perfectly matched up. The film shows various camera angles showing them in this position and there is no doubt that the two hosts are physically stacked one atop the other and resting on the paten. At the moment of the "epiclesis", that is, when the priest extends his hands and invokes the Holy Spirit, the phenomenon is evident. One sees the upper host detach from the lower one and levitate. The motion is impressive: the host is raised as though underneath it a force is released and it oscillates three or four times in the air before assuming a fixed position, horizontal, suspended about a centimeter, and remains in this position until the end of the Canon. The video shows various moments of the ceremony during which the concelebrants move around ...

  • Eucharistic procession in defense of life “40 Days for Life” took place in the United States from September 23rd to November 1st.  It is an initiative of the US pro-life movement in which prayer vigils are carried out in front of abortion clinics for 40 days, where people pray, fast, and ask for an end to abortion. Four concurrent campaigns have been organized since 2007, with participation in the US, five Canadian provinces, Ireland, and Australia. For the 2009 Fall Campaign, prayer vigils were scheduled to take place simultaneously in front of 212 clinics. In Jacksonville, Florida, the 40 Days for Life began on September 26th with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Victor Galeone. At the end of mass, a procession with the Blessed Sacrament was led from Assumption Parish, where the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother currently work, to a Women’s Help Center. Two hundred people took part in the procession. The Knights of Columbus participated, along with many youth, people from the pro-life movement, and members of the Home of the Mother. The bishop gave his blessing to all those present -- and in this way, the procession ended and “40 Days for Life” began.
