  • MARIAN CHIVALRY !! STANDING FAST 8 CHAPTER THREE THE LIFE OF PRAYER ARTICLE 2 THE BATTLE OF PRAYER 2725 Prayer is both a gift of grace and a determined response on our part. It always presupposes effort. The great figures of prayer of the Old Covenant before Christ, as well as the Mother of God, the saints, and he himself, all teach us this: prayer is a battle. Against whom? Against ourselves and against the wiles of the tempter who does all he can to turn man away from prayer, away from union with God. We pray as we live, because we live as we pray. If we do not want to act habitually according to the Spirit of Christ, neither can we pray habitually in his name. The "spiritual battle" of the Christian's new life is inseparable from the battle of prayer. I. OBJECTIONS TO PRAYER 2726 In the battle of prayer, we must face in ourselves and around us erroneous notions of prayer. Some people view prayer as a simple psychological activity, others as an effort of concentration to reach a mental void. Still others reduce prayer to ritual words and postures. Many Christians unconsciously regard prayer as an occupation that is incompatible with all the other things they have to do: they "don't have the time." Those who seek God by prayer are quickly discouraged because they do not know that prayer comes also from the Holy Spirit and not from themselves alone. 2727 We must also face the fact that certain attitudes deriving from the mentality of "this present world" can penetrate our lives if we are not vigilant. For ...

Transcript: _____________________________________ Originally, Anonymous was a loosely connected group of similar-minded people from all over the world who networked online, played pranks on websites, traded information and media, and were general internet rabble rousers. When Scientology came to their attention in attempting to remove videos of a slightly unstable Tom Cruise from the internet, they launched their usual array of tricks. These pranks quickly put scientology's website offline, getting the attention of mark bunker. Bunker's admonitions struck a chord, and Anonymous moved the focus to legal protests and dissemination of knowledge of Anonymous. What is Anonymous? The Anonymous you see protesting is a large and growing collective of individuals from any profession, gender, or race. We are connected by the internet and united by the knowledge that the Church of Scientology has committed crimes that must be dragged into the light of public awareness. • LTSA - Another 10 km/h On 1 November 2009, a new road safety television advertisement that focuses on speed in urban areas will go to air. Speed continues to be one of the leading contributing causes of crashes, casualties and fatalities on New Zealand roads; last year 137 people were killed and 2631 people were injured in speedrelated crashes. Driving at high speeds on the open road is seen as the main problem but this is only part of it; urban speed is too. In urban areas more than half of all drivers habitually travel over the 50km⁄h speed limit. However, driving faster than the speed limit increases both the likelihood of a crash and the severity of that crash. Last year, there were 830 crashes (around 16 a week) in which a driver was travelling in or around town at excessive speed for the conditions, and in which someone was injured or killed. Male drivers are still the primary offenders in speedrelated crashes. They were at fault in 81% of speedrelated crashes in urban areas last year. As such, this new campaign primarily targets young male drivers (16 29 years) who often drive faster than other drivers in urban areas. They underestimate the dangers of travelling a little bit faster than the speed limit in 50 km/h areas. They are confident with their driving ability and are comfortable that nothing untoward will happen. They are not consciously speeding they are simply driving at speeds that are habitually comfortable. The campaign aims to get young male drivers to habitually reduce their ...

The local news has contacted the bus company and the bus is no longer supposed to do any of this. Hopefully this intersection will be made safer because of the attention this has garnered. The news reported today that the police are now aware of the dnagers of the intersection thanks to the story and will montior it more closely. • Paul Watson & Aaron Dykes: Terrorist Who Trained London Bombers Was Working For US Government 1/3 Paul Joseph Watson www.prisonplanet.tv February 14, 2011 While talking heads like Glenn Beck continue to invoke the threat of radical Islam, they habitually ignore the blindingly obvious, that radical Islam is a creature of the US military-industrial complex. Case in point -- the terrorist who trained the London bombers was a US informant and has been freed after serving only four and a half years of a possible 70-year sentence. Citing his "exceptional co-operation," in working with US authorities, a New York Judge released Mohammed Junaid Babar despite him pleading guilty to five counts of terrorism, an outcome that has, "Raised questions over whether Babar was a US informer at the time he was helping to train the ringleader of the 7 July tube and bus bombings," reports the London Guardian. Babar admits to consorting with high level "Al-Qaeda" terrorists, as well as "providing senior members with money and equipment, running weapons." He also set up a training camp in Pakistan in 2003 where alleged 7/7 ringleader Mohammad Sidique Khan learned bomb-making techniques. "Graham Foulkes, a magistrate whose 22-year-old son David was killed by Khan at Edgware Road underground station in 2005, said: "People get four and a half years for burglary. They can get more for some road traffic offences. So for an international terrorist who's directly linked to the death of my son and dozens and dozens of people to get that sentence is just outrageous." But Babar's ...

  • EXERCISES FOR ALL SEASONS: Embrace Tree Embrace Tree, feet parallel shoulder width, left side view - 10/21/08 (Autumn) What are some of the main benefits of holding the "Embrace Tree" posture several times a day, if only for 60 seconds at a time? The head is a heavy object. During the day, when I'm reading a book, or preparing food, or washing dishes, my head usually tilts forward. I look down too much of the time. When the head tilts forward, the spine arches to counterbalance the drooping weight. The hunch that forms in the upper back as a result of the downward tilt of the head, over many decades, can became a "hunchback." By assuming the Embrace Tree posture several times a day (even for just 60 seconds at a time), I consciously remind myself to straighten my head, and undo the "hunchback" curvature of the spine that is constantly being formed by gravity tugging downward on my heavy head. Whichever way the head tilts habitually, the spine will bend in the opposite direction, distorting and twisting to counterbalance the heavy weight of the head. The vertebrae eventually misalign in the opposite direction that the head hangs, and it becomes very difficult to bring the spine back into normal alignment if habitual misalignment has permanently altered the shape of the spine. If the spine misaligns (because the head is hanging or is tilted more toward one side than the other), that has an effect on the pelvic girdle, which also misaligns in order to counterbalance the tilt of the head. If the pelvis misaligns ...

  • John Lott: More Guns, Less Crime In a talk given on the very day a gunman was apprehended at the University of Austin, American senior research scientist at the University of Maryland and gun rights expert John Lott explains why guns bans only serve to increase gun crime rates, why the pilots should be armed, and how statistics prove that since the DC handgun ban was lifted, there has been a dramatic drop in the murder rate. Lott points to his research which proves that there isn't a place in the world where a gun ban lowers gun crime, in fact stricter firearms regulation habitually leads to an increase in murder rates, because the only people who follow such regulations are law-abiding citizens who turn in their guns and thus leave themselves vulnerable to armed criminals who don't obey the law. Speaking on the subject of pilots being armed, Lott points out that up until 1979, pilots were mandated to carry with them a loaded handgun and throughout decades of this policy there is not one example handguns causing a problem on an airliner, demolishing the innumerable "what if" hypothetical arguments of those who oppose arming the pilots, as well as the arguments against having concealed carry on college campuses. Lott details statistics that show since the Washington DC handgun ban was lifted, there has been a huge drop in murder rates, a fact that has received virtually no news coverage in the anti-second amendment establishment media. Crimes using guns since the ban was lifted fell by about three times ...
  • Why do Some People Fail and Some Succeed? A Law of Attraction Explanation Why do some people fail and some succeed? Is it intelligence? Nope. Dumb people find success and brilliant people find success. Is it hard work? Not a chance. Many hard working people are dirt poor. And lazy people sometimes get very wealthy. So what IS the answer? Why do some find success and others seem to get PWND by life at every turn? Here's a Law of Attraction Explanation, which also happens to be a common-sense explaination: It's what you are habitually thinking... The difference between those who succeed and those who fail is (wait for it)...mindset. Attitude truly is everything, and it is the determining factor in your success in ANY area of your life. Will you be rich? Will you have a great relationship? Will you be happy and content? These things are all the product of your mindset...what you are thinking. That's why developing and maintaining a great mindset is SO important. It literally is the difference between success and failure.

You can taste a sweetness, but you wouldnt know its orange if you werent expecting it. But, once you get the after taste, its easy to spot. • Mutant Bass: Busting Beyond Habitual Hearing visit: Do You Have A Limited Perception? A few years ago, I noticed a common phenomenon among many of my beginner and intermediate students. When my students listened to melodic and harmonic intervals in an isolated manner, they were easily able to accurately distinguish the inveral that was being played. However, when the same intervals were being played in the context of a musical situation, their ears seemed to fail them. Minor thirds sounded like major thirds. Perfect fourths sounded like perfect fifths. Minor seconds sounded like major seconds. I'd like to introduce the concept of Vertical and Horizontal hearing. Vertical hearing concerns itself with hearing things as they are. A chord, F9, is simply perceived as some sort of F chord. More information can also be perceived. The voicing, R, 5, 9. The chord quality, F9. And perhaps more. Horizontal hearing concerns itself with context. What was played before this F9 chord? What is being played during this F9 chord? What is going to follow this F9 chord? What is this chord functioning as? And perhaps more. The phenomenon I described earlier suggests a dominant and habitual vertical type of hearing. These particular students have become accustomed to hearing intervals in only one way. By simply exploring the possibilities of horizontal hearing, one can dramatically improve their ear's awareness, even during unique musical situations. Let's focus our attention to a simple minor third interval, C and A ...

  • The Power of Intelligent Questions and Notes Taking - The Path Chapter 12 intelligent choices creates interesting and rewarding results.... intelligent decisions gives us the the path to our goals... We ask all kind of questions all day long...some of them are good many of them are not so intelligent... Highly successful people and fulfilled people take great care about what questions to ask...they are the choices they make. Successful people choose intelligent questions...they ask themselves and other people many intelligent questions, and they do it with profound intentions and positive purposes. People who are not aware of what questions will bring, will continue to ask problematic questions. They continue to ask questions to intimidate, manipulate, and to hurt or destroy other people's confidence. In the end this bad habit turn to take effects on themselves. Anyone who wants a happy and fulfilled life must become aware of the tremendous power of questions in shaping the results and experiences in our life....and practice asking intelligent questions everyday. This is like a person who wants to not just excel at sport...but who wants to win the significant price in life and relationship. But first you must become conscious of the possibilities that any question will be either a good or bad question. We must consciously ask the good ones, and do it intelligently....ie with good intentions and profound purposes. It will greatly help you advance and improve faster when you actually keep notes about the questions you habitually ask, and those ...

  • Overcoming Addictions: You're in Charge! -- Option Institute -- The Option Institute's HAPPINESS HITS Video Series. Many of us are making resolutions in the New Year to stop smoking, drink less, eat healthier...curb our "bad" habits. In this video, Barry (Bears) Neil Kaufman, best selling author of Happiness Is A Choice and Son-Rise: The Miracle Continues and the Co-Founder of The Option Institute, The Son-Rise Program®, and the Autism Treatment Center of America™, suggests that the fundamental difference between discipline and addiction is a judgment. If you habitually work out, you're disciplined. If you habitually smoke cigarettes, you're addicted. You look at both activities through a filter based on your own personal beliefs, therefore putting your stamp of approval on one activity and not the other. Bears further explains how each moment offers you the opportunity to choose and how easily you can make profound changes in your habits by simply identifying the beliefs that fuel your so-called "habitual" behaviors. The Inner Strength Program, exclusively available at The Option Institute, will help you become indestructible from the inside out - take charge of your own experience, put yourself in the driver's seat and learn concrete techniques for overcoming fear, building self-esteem, and making choices that lead to an empowered and happy life. "I came to this program frightened and insecure about who I was in the world. I'm leaving centered and strong in my ability to move powerfully and loving with inner ...
  • Goal Setting: How to Move Forward when You Lack Motivation Have you ever felt stuck or lacked motivation on any given day? Have you ever found yourself making a commitment and when the time came to follow through and do what you said you were going to do, you failed to follow through just because you didnt feel like it? One of the primary distinctions I have discovered between people who habitually achieve their goals and create the results they desire is that successful people follow through whether they feel like it or not. Successful people follow through whether they feel like it or not. Imagine scheduling your wedding and the minister failed to show up to your ceremony because he didnt feel like it. Imagine your kids not doing their homework because they didnt have the motivation, they dont feel like doing it. It sounds preposterous that we can be so moody and fickle when it comes to our goals in life, but for many individuals, this is how they habitually operate. The key to following though and getting things done is to have a plan and follow through on it long after the mood has left you. That is true commitment. So its a gloomy day, you have a goal to exercise but you dont feel like it. Do it anyways. Whenever you set a goal, write it down, set a deadline and make a list of 10 compelling reasons why you MUST achieve this goal. You need to determine your motivation up front when you first set the goal. Every time you follow through whether you feel like it at the moment or not, you build your self ...
  • An intrusive stimulation for relaxation (10 Hertz) -- be critical If you have a history of seizures because of flashing lights or colors: Caution, this video may cause seizures. In the video an intrusive stimulus appears 10 times in a second on the screen. The intrusive stimulus has the colour "brown", because one psychological meaning of this color has something to do with assertiveness. The shape of the stimulus looks like a spearhead. Probably you have some negative emotions and thoughts, when you expose yourself to this kind of stimulation. Perhaps you feel fear and disgust. And perhaps you have thoughts of inferiority. But don't say to yourself: "I don't have to have feelings of fear, disgust and inferiority." Because this active suppression does not lead to the opposite feelings: freedom from fear, readiness for receiving a good taste and superiority. The active suppression can increase the negative feelings. So just keep the negative feelings in perspective and be passive. For example, you can imagine that the negative feelings were cave-paintings from the Stone-Age. By and by you will see that the negative feelings go away and you can feel relaxation and alertness. You can consider this exposure to an intrusive stimulus as a kind of flooding (or you can name it: exposure therapy), which is a form of behaviour therapy. The aim of flooding is to integrate repressed emotions and freedom from fear. As it is known by physiology and experience of life an adrenaline and fear response is time limited. So after a while you feel no fear ...
  • Darrell Stetler - The Importance of A Pure Heart Are You Born Again? by JC Ryle (1816-1900) A person who has been born again, or regenerated, does not habitually commit sin. This is one of life's most important questions. Jesus Christ said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). It is not enough to reply, "I belong to the church; I suppose I'm a Christian." Thousands of those who claim to be Christians show none of the signs of being born again which the Scriptures have given us — many listed in the First Epistle of John. No Habitual Sinning No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God (1 John 3:9), and We know that no one who is born of God sins... (1 John 5:18). A person who has been born again, or regenerated, does not habitually commit sin. He no longer sins with his heart and will and whole liking. There was probably a time when he did not think about whether his actions were sinful or not, and he did not always feel grieved after doing evil. There was no quarrel between him and sin; they were friends. But the true Christian hates sin, flees from it, fights against it, considers it his greatest plague, resents the burden of its presence, mourns when he falls under its influence, and longs to be completely delivered from it. • TURN OFF YOUR IDOL!!! - Paul Washer on American Christianity - (see video description below) DISCLAIMER: 1. This video is not meant to say that all forms of entertainment or television are inherently evil. Instead, it is preaching against much of the immorality that is found on TV, and strongly warning Christians not to partake of it. 2. This video is NOT saying that anyone who watches something sinful on TV is not a real Christian or is not saved. Rather, it is a call to examine yourself, to see if there is sin or compromise in your life in finding enjoyment by watching the things that God hates. If you habitually spend much time being satisfied by watching immorality on TV on a regular basis and you do not get grieved over any of it, then that could possibly be evidence that you are not truly saved (2 Cor. 13:5). Christians should devote themselves to renewing their minds and pursuing holiness (Rom. 12:1-2, Heb. 12:14). We should walk worthy of our calling. We should NOT waste our lives by blending in with the world! If you are a real Christian but are living in compromise, this is a call to deeper repentance and deeper devotion to God. 3. This video is certainly NOT teaching that non-Christians can be saved by simply shutting off their TV or throwing it away. A sinner can only be saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Justificaiton is by faith. However, the truth is that once someone is truly saved, their heart is changed, and they will no longer delight in sin and immorality and ...
