The almighty Goatwhore has announced that their new album, "Blood For The Master", will be coming out on February 14th Valentine's Day in North America via Metal Blade Records. In a recent interview with Decibel magazine, GOATWHORE guitarist Sammy stated that the band's new CD will feature "the same exact sound I used on. We're just trying to improve on that sound — make it bigger and fatter. That 'Carving' guitar sound was incredible, and that's why we spent half the week trying to get it to sound even better, which I believe we achieved. It's gonna have that growly, sub-nuclear kind of sound, but I think it's gonna be almost more refined in a way — but still very nasty."
  • Meaning Of Life? Singularity Field Theory At the basic level of particle there is a pool or energy field one that is of us and of everything in the universe. We call it singularity field and in fact we are all one and the same, unified at this level of existence. The truth is that we are just different parts of the very same thing, we share a consciousness even though we feel separate. We are actually like blades of grass on the universal field of the universe all sharing one root at the sub nuclear scale.

  • Lost Planet 2 - 5th Boss Fight - Red Eye The 5th boss fight in Lost Planet 2, The Red Eye is the largest of all the Category-G Akrid(except for the Over-G) at over 1000 feet long Like the Undeep, the Red Eye is a huge, subterranean annelid-like Akrid, which uses hundreds of spiny limbs and other insectoid-like contractions to travel through the ground with relative ease and speed. As its name suggests, the creature is covered with circular shaped eyes that are red. It also has tens - if not hundreds- of tiny, light sensative eyes on its upper two jaw plates unlike the similarly-named Green Eye (from LP1) which had two eyes placed atop its head. Another thing this gargantuan shares in common with the Undeep is that it possesses a "beard" of tentacles that are actually a form of antennae that perform two tasks: locates prey with a form of echolocation and guiding the beast to its prey; and having great tensile strengths and high friction levels; making it almost impossible to escape the giant's grasp. How to defeat the boss: It is encountered for the second time after the player has taken control of the Railway Gun: a massive artillery cannon with a cataclysmically powerful defense/attack system. Using this cannon, the player has to blow apart the Red Eye's weak spots and kill the massive creature once and for all. The Red Eye's side spots are its weak spots and can be struck twice: first leaving a glowing red circle, and second, a huge gap revealing the Monster's spine and skeletal structure if the second shell ...
  • "Can We Know the Universe" by Carl Sagan Today is Carl Sagan Day, November 6th, 2010. His birthday is November 9th, and I will be posting another video then, in a similar style. This is an essay he first published in "Broca's Brain", 1979. I think it marvelously communicates what it is to be a scientist. The thrill of understanding some small part of the Universe in a way that no human before you has understood it. It is the high of science, the thrill and the payoff. The world needs Carl today as much as ever. His small light in the darkness is still shining, but magnified by the many minds he reached with his message. If you were affected by Carl Sagan, inspired by him, maybe you would consider lighting a candle for rationality, skepticism, and our shared humanity. In honor of Carl. "I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking. The world is so exquisite with so much love and moral depth, that there is no reason to deceive ourselves with pretty stories for which there's little good evidence. Far better it seems to me, in our vulnerability, is to look death in the eye and to be grateful every day for the brief but magnificent opportunity that life provides." -- "In the Valley of the Shadow" PARADE magazine (10 March 1996)

  • TANKER TRAIN TRANSPORTS CHEMICAL WEAPONS AGENTS TODAY NOVEMBER 18 2012 NO TROLLS ALLOWED!!! A super train passes through Kingman Arizona bound for New Jersey. A chemical weapon (CW) is a device that uses chemicals formulated to inflict death or harm to human beings. They may be classified as weapons of mass destruction, and have been "condemned by the civilised world". They are separate from biological weapons (diseases), nuclear weapons (which use sub-nuclear fission) and radiological weapons(which use radioactive decay of elements). Chemical weapons can be widely dispersed in gas, liquid and solid forms and may easily afflict others than the intended targets. Nerve gas and tear gas are two modern examples. Lethal unitary chemical agents and munitions are extremely volatile and constitute a class of hazardous chemical weapons stockpiled by many nations. The most dangerous of these are nerve agents GA, GB, and VX, and vesicant (blister) agents H, HT, and HD. All are liquids at normal room temperature, but become gaseous when released. Widely used during WWI, the effects of so-called, mustard gas, phosgene gas and others caused lung searing, blindness, death and maiming. In addition, the gas was unreliable due to wind dispersion and often drifted back into the users own lines. The public was so horrified by the results and the military so unimpressed that the complete elimination of this class of weapon was widely supported after the war. Large modern stock piles continue to exist, though usually only as a precaution against use by an ...

  • The huge machines of physics - ISWA project THE HUGE MACHINES OF PHYSICS Charmed by the unknown The European synchrotron of Grenoble and the Large Hadron Collider of Geneva are taken as examples of the two-fold nature of science: the use of knowledge for practical purposes or the improvement of knowledge to discover the mysteries of nature. For both purposes we need increasingly large machines, as equipment must get larger as the objects to be studied get smaller. An overview is given of different applications, fascinating researches, and also the kind of life that researchers lead in such centres, leaving open the question of how far it is possible to push the frontiers of knowledge. At first an introduction is presented related to the goals of the subnuclear physics, trying to discovery the fundamental laws of the universe. In particular the Large Hadron Collider is presented which was recently built at Genevra, having a circumpherence of 27 Km. The phylosophy of the basic research there performed is discussed, in particular the search for peculiar particles, the existence of which was predicted theoretically. Then the large scale synchrotron sources are presented, with special emphasis to the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, France, which is one of the most powerful and well equipped source in the world. The large variety of research there developed, is presented: in particular discoveries are considered in the field of physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, engineering, material science and ...
  • Bruce Lipton Genes _ Environment.mov Hello. Im looking to help you view the world with different eyes. Understand that we're living in a world where our perception of reality has been modified both by external sources as well as our own internal evolution. Every cell and living specie evolves and adapts. Unfortunately, EVERYTHING affects us both physically and mentally. Weather, planets, the media, and other humans. We have no direct access to our physical world, other than through our senses. And that is the problem. But until we understand what the building blocks of life are, we're never going to have full control. We are spiritual/energy beings, having a human experience. Lets wake up. Both modern quantum physics and molecular biology, neuro emunology, they both say that we create our own realities, and that we do have a lot of responsibilities over the world in which we live. At least the way we experience the world and the way the world behaves towards us. Progress in our understanding of the universe through physics over the past quarter century has been exploring deeper levels of natural law. From the macroscopic, to the microscopic. From the molecular, to the atomic, to the nuclear, to subnuclear levels of nature's functioning. And what we've discovered at the core basis of the universe (the foundation of the universe) is a single universal field of intelligence. A field which unites gravity with electromagnetism. Light with radioactivity. With the nuclear force. So that all the forces of nature are ...

  • Components of a Cell Nucleus In cell biology, the nucleus (pl. nuclei; from Latin nucleus or nuculeus, meaning kernel) is a membrane-enclosed organelle found in eukaryotic cells. It contains most of the cell's genetic material, organized as multiple long linear DNA molecules in complex with a large variety of proteins, such as histones, to form chromosomes. The genes within these chromosomes are the cell's nuclear genome. The function of the nucleus is to maintain the integrity of these genes and to control the activities of the cell by regulating gene expression — the nucleus is, therefore, the control center of the cell. The main structures making up the nucleus are the nuclear envelope, a double membrane that encloses the entire organelle and unifies its contents from the cellular cytoplasm, and the nucleoskeleton (which includes nuclear lamina), a meshwork within the nucleus that adds mechanical support, much like the cytoskeleton, which supports the cell as a whole. Because the nuclear membrane is impermeable to large molecules, nuclear pores are required to allow movement of molecules across the envelope. These pores cross both of the membranes, providing a channel that allows free movement of small molecules and ions. The movement of larger molecules such as proteins is carefully controlled, and requires active transport regulated by carrier proteins. Nuclear transport is crucial to cell function, as movement through the pores is required for both gene expression and chromosomal maintenance ...

  • Animation explanation A look deeper into the relationship between electricity and gravity and how it shapes our experience. There are questions in this one. I am not expecting people to understand quantum theories. Also, I have not studied physics heavily in a classroom in many years so I am relearning and learning anew as I go. I have been thinking about the strong and weak nuclear forces on a sub nuclear level. I have also contacted the physics department at UCLA about studying there. Also, I want you to know, I don't agree with all the things I talk about when I watch these videos. Particularly the last third of this video. I know that the thoughts can get wildly lost at times. This is why I do it on video and put it on the internet, so the people's response balances out and I don't isolate during exploration. I am most certainly looking for constructive communication regarding all scientific theory. It also allows me to get back to normal life when I am not on the computer. I would like to have a conversation with each person and explain further.

  • Public Lecture—Profiling the Invisible: Quantum Mechanics and the Unseen Universe Lecture Date: Tuesday, February 22, 2005. When we explore Nature at distances much smaller than the size of an atom, we find new and mysterious physical principles. At such small sizes, particles are governed by "quantum theory". Quantum theory tells us that some aspects of particle motion cannot be known as a matter of principle. This is a challenge to those of us who would like to do experiments to understand how these particles behave. Fortunately, quantum theory, for all its uncertainty, has its own logic. It predicts patterns in the subatomic world that hold definite information and can be measured to high precision. In this lecture, I will explain how we use these patterns in experiments with high energy particles to learn about the nature of the subnuclear forces and about the structure of the universe. Lecturer: Michael Peskin, SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
  • A Scientific Introduction to Transcendental Meditation (TM) by Dr John Hagelin Dr John Hagelin describes the Transcendental Meditation technique in scientific terms. For more information visit - Hello, I'm John Hagelin, quantum physicist and teach of the Transcendental Meditation program. Welcome to this introductory lecture on Transcendental Meditation. What is Transcendental Meditation? Is it a way to relax? Is it a technique to promote health, vitality, and longevity? Is it a means to develop creativity, IQ, and peak mental performance? Or is it a past to inner peace? Enlightenment? As we will see it is all these things and more. To understand Transcendental Meditation and consciousness we need to understand a little bit about the physical universe. Modern science, over the past 50 years, has probed deeper levels of physical reality. Modern science has explored more fundamental levels of natures functioning. From the superficial level of macroscopic physics, the sensory objects around us, to the world of the molecule, atom, nucleus and sub-nuclear levels of natures functioning as shown in this chart. This chart reveals the hierarchical structure of the laws of nature. From superficial diversity to fundamental unity shown at the foundation of this chart. As modern physics probes deeper levels of natures functioning it is revealed that more fundamental levels of nature are progressively more unified. the 4 forces of nature deep within the atomic nucleus become 3, and 2, and ultimately 1 unified field of all the laws of nature.
  • British nuclear sub upsets Argentina: Hector Timerman scolds Britain for Falkland Islands submarine Argentina has accused Britain of sending nuclear weapons to the disputed Falkland Islands, while United Nations leader Ban Ki-moon appealed to both sides to avoid an "escalation" of their sovereignty battle. With both countries about to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War, Argentina's Foreign Minister Hector Timerman called the islands "the last refuge of a declining empire." Timerman said Britain had sent a nuclear submarine to the South Atlantic and was "militarising the region" in breach of a 1967 Latin American treaty which bans the presence, pursuit, and use of nuclear weapons. Britain's UN ambassador said his country would "robustly" defend the Falklands, and while Britain wanted talks with Argentina, he insisted there could be no sovereignty negotiations unless the population wanted it. UK Ambassador to the UN Mark Lyall Grant said, "The charge from Mr. Timerman about militarisation of the region by the United Kingdom is manifestly absurd. Before 1982 there was a minimal defence presence on the Falkland Islands. It is only because Argentina illegally invaded the Falkland Islands in 1982 that since then we have had to increase our defence posture. Nothing has changed in that defence posture in recent months or recent years. All the issues that he referred to -- the six monthly missile tests, the deployment of ships -- have been going on for the last 30 years. The only thing that has changed is the politics in Argentina."

I was getting peaked by the Ubi Subsim forum's 100000 ton club, where people playing unrealistically bagged the tonnage to sport a hokey badge. I made the point that I could qualify for that club in a very short time, and loaded up Neon Deon's Pimp My Boat 2 mod, along with my Slightly Subnuclear Deck Gun and Rockin Robbins' Convoy From Hell Mission. • HIV infected human cell I created this 3D reconstruction of an actual Human Cell expressing HIV (Green Fluoresence). Another human protein is also shown (Red Fluoresence). I made this movie using Osirix (for Macintosh) which combines many 2D images taken by confocal microscopy. The microscope took a "stack" of pictures, one "slice" every 3 ten millionths of a meter--moving from the bottom to the top of the cell. The movie, therefore is, technically speaking, a rotating 3D rendering/reconstruction of a whole bunch of 2D images of a translucent cell. Techincal notes: this HeLa cell was transfected with fluorescent HIV along with another fluorescent protein and fixed 24 hours later onto a glass slide. A few days later, I took the images you see as a movie, 21 Feb 2007. HIV is seen mostly in the cytoplasm of the cell and at the plasma membrane of the cell. The other protein is mostly found in the nucleolus, a sub-nuclear structure where ribosomes (protein factories) are made. However, it appears that some of the red protein also co-localizes with HIV at the edges of the cell.
