  • Sea Otter Feeding And Swimming Really Cute! Sea Otter Feeding and swimming filmed in HD quality! Enjoy The sea otter (Enhydra lutris) is a marine mammal native to the coasts of the northern and eastern North Pacific Ocean. Adult sea otters typically weigh between 14 and 45 kg (30 to 100 lb), making them the heaviest members of the weasel family, but among the smallest marine mammals. Unlike most marine mammals, the sea otter's primary form of insulation is an exceptionally thick coat of fur, the densest in the animal kingdom. Although it can walk on land, the sea otter lives mostly in the ocean. The sea otter inhabits near shore environments where it dives to the sea floor to forage. It preys mostly upon marine invertebrates such as sea urchins, various molluscs and crustaceans, and some species of fish. Its foraging and eating habits are noteworthy in several respects. First, its use of rocks to dislodge prey and to open shells makes it one of the few mammal species to use tools. In most of its range, it is a keystone species, controlling sea urchin populations which would otherwise inflict extensive damage to kelp forest ecosystems. Its diet includes prey species that are also valued by humans as food, leading to conflicts between sea otters and fisheries. Sea otters, whose numbers were once estimated at 150000--300000, were hunted extensively for their fur between 1741 and 1911, and the world population fell to 1000--2000 individuals in a fraction of their historic range. A subsequent international ban on ...

  • KANGAL The Kangal Dog is the national breed of Turkey and called a National Cultural and Historic Treasure. It was originally used as a livestock guardian dog. It was developed to live with a flock and fend off wolves and jackals, rather than herd a flock. It can run up to 30 miles per hour and has a double layer coat composed of dense under fur covered by longer, coarser hair. The under fur insulates it during the winters and fierce summer heat, while the outer fur repels water. The Kangal is so powerful that some are specialized wolf killers. They will use their substantial forehead weight to knock a wolf to the ground and then attack its throat and the tendons of its hind legs. The Kangal is very ancient. Sculptures of dogs resembling the Kangal are seen accompanying the hunting groups of the Assyrian King Ashurbanipal. The historian, Herodotus, described a strong, large breed known as the "Indian Hound" that the Babylonians kept. The breed might have migrated from Asia. The Kangal is protective and gentle with small children and animals. They are devoted to their families and, thus, are popular pets. The Kangal dog is of solid color ranging from light dun to a beautiful steel grey with a black mask. Another name for the breed is Karabash, which means black head. The Kangel has an awe-inspiring stance and balanced proportions with a tail carried in an open curl over the back forming a circle. The tail can form a single or double curl. Many Kangals have their ears cropped ...

  • BIG MALE MASTIFF BY DEER, DOG AND CRANE, CATTLE No animals were hurt in this video. It shows behavior of different species. Very rare video shows a large male Kangal dog very close to a wild deer. It is extremely unusual for a wild deer to allow a large carnivore to get near it. It is also rare to film a dog running loose exhibiting natural canine behavior. The dog is first passes the wild whitetail and then approaches it. When the dog approached the second time, the deer still remained standing. In the first part of the video, the deer was on the right side of the video. The big white Kangal ran past it (video is in slow motion, because the activity was rapid). The deer must have seen the dog, because as the dog ran by, the deer moved forward a little and then moved back. The dog's white tail curving over its back showed up well. In the second part, the dog comes out of some weeds on the left side and approaches the deer. Its black face is visible here. (The video is not too good because it was taken from a good distance away and the action was swift. It was enhanced and in slow motion). The two parts together show that the dog was white with a black face and a tail curling over its back, thus, the Kangal dog which was in the area. The next part of the video shows the Kangal eating a deer carcass. This carcass was from a large buck, but the dog had no trouble pulling it around and eating bones. Another dog can be heard barking at it. It looks up often, possibly at wild deer in the next field. It is very rare for a ...

  • BIG MASTIFF KANGAL CHASE ATTACK DEER/COYOTE/B-Magnificent dg No animals were harmed in the making of this video. The deer was already dead. Two beautiful dogs-The video shows two big dogs (one red and one white) chasing deer and possibly a coyote. I photographed them because they were such beautiful magnificent-looking friendly dogs. Very rare video shows a large male Kangal dog and another dog chasing a wild whitetail. It is unusual to photograph big dogs chasing large wild animals. It is also rare to film unattended dogs running loose exhibiting natural canine behavior. At first, I thought they were chasing a coyote, but then veered off and began to chase some deer that had been watching the chase. During the slow motion view of the chase, the deer can be seen turning their heads as they watch the dogs chasing something over the ridge. Then the dogs see them, change direction, and begin to chase them. The later portion of video shows the big dogs eating a deer carcass. The size of the dogs is apparent, as they pull big portions of the carcass around and eat bones. Later some buzzards and possibly another dog or coyote approach the carcass. The dogs chase or attack these and continue eating. Another dog barks at the white dog. After the dogs leave the buzzards can take over, but waiting in the sideline are crows, which the buzzards chase off. Actually, the crows found the carcass first and cawed to let everyone know it was there, but they were too small to tear it apart, so they waited until it was ready to eat. A reason the dogs ...

  • RS2 by Rim Chung The RS2 Although Rim Chung designed and tied the RS2 almost 40 years ago he never submitted the fly for production with a fly manufacturer and subsequently it was never protected and he has never received the financial returns on it that modern designers receive from contemporary patterns. Over the subsequent years it has been reproduced in literally thousands of intriguing and effective variations. Unfortunately, at this point in time there are anglers who are completely unaware of Mr. Chung's singular role in creating this very effective nymph. It was and still is a simple yet innovative fly. The key to the success of this pattern is the very tight dubbing which creates the wonderful and delicate body segmentation and the soft downy wing which is cut at an angle to aid in the formation of a beautifully realistic wing case when wet. This pattern has been used very successfully by Rocky Mountain fly anglers for the past several decades primarily for nymphing (rarely is it fished dry but the act of breaking rules is the ethereal place where innovation lives) in tail waters, freestone rivers, and high altitude Rocky Mountain streams and Alpine lakes. It is one of the most successful patterns of all time in the Rockies and beyond. Mr. Chung was gracious enough to sit with us at the shop and allow us to film him tying this venerable fly so we could share it with you.
