  • s2000cr thunderhill 2:11 lap stock re070 720p This is the first time driving my Honda S2000 CR around the Thunderhill raceway. The car is stock, except K&N intake and XP10/8 brake pads. Honda has done a wonderful job on the stock suspension. The handling is neutral in high speed turns, and exhibits minor understeering in tight turns. I think the contributing factors are the 215mm front tires and the limited adjustability on the front camber. A set of 255mm tires on 17x10" rims along with the J's racing front camber joint should address the understeering issue. I like to point out that I didn't have much faith on the half-worn brake pads, I was purposely braking earlier than I should. The car could carry more speed on T1 and T9. Overall, I am impressed with the Honda S2000 CR. Enjoy the video.

In this field, Showroom Stock GT, A ,B and C are with Improved Touring S, A , B and C (both theoretically fastest to slowest) along with modified V8 Mustangs and Camaros. My car is in the IT "C" class, which is supposed to be the slowest of all the IT cars. In the previous clip, you saw a SSA Toyota Supra and an ITS Datsun 280ZX right in front of me. These cars should at the front of the pack, not impeding the race of cars at the opposite end of the classing spectrum. But in Club Racing, these are things you must deal with. In this clip, they have gotten past an ITB Rabbit with a novice driver (a big "X" on all corners of the car). I can't honestly say if the tap I gave the Rabbit was intentional, but he missed a shift and I got past. I was now being blocked by the red Datsun Z, a car that should have been at the front of the pack, now in my way. At 4:54 in this clip, trying to outbrake the Z, my car's handling changes drastically. It switches from neutral under power to understeer everywhere, and I back off, fearing a tire going down. Now play my video first, right after about 42 seconds, then start his video. Watch side by side to compare! Must watch! He did a lap time of 8:46 minutes. So, I checked his entry speed of each corning as he did, and like to try on my Forza car. I just could not make at that lap time. I did at 10:02 minutes. I just could not make to close to those entry speeds of his did on real-life, if I try too hard I will push the car to understeer and wash out of the track. The Forza car handling and combined the track just not quite to march real one. I will estimate about 10 - 15% off in terms of lap time. If Forza can calibrate their physics on the car and track by net of 10 -15% easier, then my lap time of this video would be about 8:30 - 9:00 minutes, instead.   • Oversteer and Understeer on the track This video shows an example of oversteer and an example of understeer during my rookie year of solosprints on tracks driving a Honda Insight. During the oversteer my panic caused me to correct the wheel too quickly and overcompensated by turning it too much. This resulted in a tail slapper that got out of hand until I lost speed going sideways and rolled off the track backwards slowly. The original video is higher quality and clearly shows I was during this turn at over 100 km/hr (60 mph) both times. I was using Race compound tires. This video was filmed in 2005.

In the smaller picture-in-picture, I was understeering badly through the tight hairpin. In the larger frame, I slowed my speed at turn-in and took the hairpin with neutral balance.   • David Adams, Say Cheese Drifting Event In The Rain 3 In this run, I practiced using LESS throttle than I normally would. The results were understeer. With this car, both wet and dry, there's a very thin, extremely fine balance line of drifting, spinning and understeering. It's trying to find that balance. The wet magnifies this but in turn makes it easier to find the line and throttle position you're looking for! Note the understeer going towards the 180 clipping point. I had to crank the ebrake at the last minute to help complete the turn. From here we move on to part 4.

I need to loosen the bar a bit since everything was understeer. Lowered rear psi to a stupidly low level to reduce rear traction, but was still understeering no matter what. 27mm front sway (upgraded) and oem 19mm rear will do that. times were all in the 58 zone but dirty.

  • Simulation of Understeer Test Understeer is the most desirable handling characteristic for a vehicle as it represents a stable condition in which as a vehicle slowly increases speed around a circular path of constant radius, the steering wheel angle increases, to pull more lateral G's the speed and steering angle must be both increased. This is a test normally done in the "linear region of operation". If a vehicle is RWD or is caused to skid in a transient maneuver, where the back end of the vehicle is broken free, this is an "induced oversteer" condition and may be possible even with an inherently Understeer vehicle. With FWD the front tire forces normally saturate first and excessive power applied, especially in wet or slippery conditions may cause the vehicle to have even more pronounced Understeer effect and at the limit may tend to go straight on instead of turning. On cars LT's and SUV's equipped with ESP (Electronic Stability Program) Understeer or Oversteer can be mitigated by ESP by applying brakes individually and /or cutting engine power. This is thought to be the greatest safety advance since the seat belt.

It merges the dynamic stability programme (DSP) with the roll over prevention (ROP) functionality.
