  • Hold On chapter 22 i know it's short and not the best but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK JOANS :D its my little sister's birthday tomorrow :) ~*~ Liz's pov I was torn between worry and annoyance. Rae should've learned by now! But I still couldn't help but be scared after what happened to Tess...It was only around two o'clock in the afternoon so I knew we had hours before the party even started. "Wait so what's going on?" Nick asked uneasily. Me and Tessa exchaged looks. Should we expose her like that or keep her secret? "We need they're help..." Tess whispered, almost reading my mind. "I know" I sighed "You guys might wanna sit, this could take a while." "Should I start, or do you wanna?" Tess asked looking uneasy "I might as well" I mumbled before jumping into the story. "Last year, after you left Rae went into a sort of...funk i guess you could say. She was miserable and wasn't going out much so me and Tess convinced her to come to a party with us." "That's where she met Aiden..." Tess interupted. I shot her a look and she shut up. "Yeah, so anyway. We couldn't find her anywhere and suddenly this guy is practically carrying her to us. He told us his name was Aiden and that she had been drinking alot. He was one of the only sober guys there so we had him help us take her home." "He could've taken advantage of her!" Kevin yelled angrily. "No Tess was with her the whole time!" I said. "I took my car and Tess drove with them. After that night Rae started getting really close with Aiden." "How close ...
  • THE POLL DIARIES by Chris Kraus ("Four Minutes") | trailer HD | TIFF 2010 Special Presentation In the summer of 1914I, a 14-year-old German girl returns to her home on the Baltic coast, a place uneasily shared by Germans, Russians and Estonians. While her morbid scientist father controls the family with cruel hand, the passionate young girl secretly nurses a wounded Estonian anarchist back to health - at first an act of curiosity and then of defiance that could set off an uncontrollable chain reaction... On the eve of World War I, 14-year-old Oda von Siering returns to Poll, her family home on the Baltic coast, a region uneasily shared by Germans, Russians and Estonians. With her are the mortal remains of her mother, who passed away in Berlin. Awaiting the bright and inquisitive girl are her father Ebbo, an eccentric scientist with a dubious interest in racial breeding; her aunt Milla, who flees reality through music and affairs; and other members of her aristocratic German family, who are clinging to their privileges in a world on the brink of disaster. Upon finding a wounded Estonian anarchist on the estate, the passionate, impulsive Oda fearlessly hides him and secretly nurses him back to health, aware that her deed could trigger a chain reaction of uncontrollable violence. She falls in love with the young man, a writer who stimulates her craving for romance and adventure. He, however, plans to leave Poll as soon as possible. But he underestimates the power of her feelings toward him and of her alienation from a world she has little in common with. "The Poll ...
  • Squirrel fight Wtf kitty Black Dog of Hanging Hills A Connecticut Ghost Story retold by SE Schlosser He smiled as he sipped at his coffee. It had been an excellent hike. He was glad his friend had recommended coming to the Hanging Hills in Connecticut; not the first place that had come to his mind when considering a vacation. But it was beautiful here. When his friend arrived tomorrow they would tackle some of the more challenging terrain. "Did you have a nice hike?" asked the innkeeper as she refilled his cup. "Yes indeed. I had some unexpected company," he said with a smile. "Really? I thought you were the only one crazy enough to go hiking in the rain," she teased. "It was a little black dog," he said. "Cute fellow. "We have a saying around here," she replied. "'And if a man shall meet the Black Dog once, it shall be for joy; and if twice, it shall be for sorrow; and the third time, he shall die.'" He laughed. "That's just superstition." "That's what Mr. Pynchon said. He saw the black dog twice. The second time he saw the dog, the friend he was climbing with fell to his death. And later, Mr. Pynchon decided to climb the same mountain, and he died too. Everyone here believes he saw the dog just before he fell." "Nonsense. It was just a cute stray," he said uneasily. • Malice Mizer Premier Amour full ver. This is an excellent Malice Mizer song, I love it, It makes my happy even tought the lyrics are a bit sad =(, So, wanna download the song?: Well Here is the translation: In the sky fading far into the distance Back when I repeated those secret words like some kind of magic While I chased after the light and gambled with the seasons But now can't remember even that name I stretched out against the huge wall and the words we wrote together Now look up to me soft, and greet me with a gentle smile Beneath the stormy sky the two of us walked hand in hand I hear your voice from back then, suddenly remembered from very far away As the years roll by I remember you, though now gone And gather my memories in the never-changing sky I fondly remember the time when I stood Uneasily in the middle of the wide street And wondered where I could go to meet you And as I looked at the sky in the dazzling rays from the sun I felt just then a small premonition of something new to come I stretched out against the huge wall and the words we wrote together Now look up to me soft, and greet me with a gentle smile There was no senario, there was no end, as we simply laughed innocently I hear your voice from back then, suddenly remembered from very far away As I looked at the sky in the dazzling rays from the sun I felt just then a small premonition of something new to come Amid the fading sunlight I called your name And until you float away forever into the sky I continued ...

  • Untitled Longing... Chapter 230 So so so so so so so so so SO sorry! I know it's been like, forever, but I've been stuck in a MAJOR writers block. If you follow me on Twitter, you know how horrible I feel about it.So sorry. --------------- Nick's POV. I close the distance between us quickly and take her face in my hands. I then push her body into mine and hug her tightly. My hand goes to the back of her head and I push her into my body. She lets me crush her for about thirty seconds, then she tries to get away from me. I let her and drop my arms. "I'm sorry," I apologize immediately. She shakes her head. "It's fine. You got hit with the realization that I'm close to Summer. I understand," Auden replies easily. I look at her and notice something strange. Something that for one second, makes me believe my gut wasnt right. "You wanted to talk?" Auden reminds me, and she sits down on one of the beds. "Yeah, can you give me a minute? I need to use the bathroom," I mumble uneasily. She nods and makes herself comfortable. I lock the bathroom door behind me and quickly whip out my phone. I speed-dial my brother and he picks up right before I'm about to give up. "Nick? Everything okay?" he asks, sounding quite tired. Or worn out, I'm not quite sure. "I'm not sure," I whisper. "Why are you whispering?" Joe asks. "I need to ask Brooke something." I ignore his question and continue in a hushed whisper. "I'll put her on," Joe agrees. I wait impatiently for Brooke. "Hey, Nick. What's going on?" she asks somewhat ...

  • IF FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR DOES SERVE JAIL TERM, WILL HE FIGHT AGAIN? WILL FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR FIGHT AGAIN? Floyd Mayweather, Walking in the Footsteps of Tyson? by Charles R. Saunders SONAHHR, Nova Scotia September 26, 2010 Don't Be Like Mike, Floyd As prospects for a pound-for-pound mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao fade like cigarette smoke, the situation of Floyd Mayweather Jr. is beginning to resemble that of another fighter who once dominated the headlines. That fighter is Mike Tyson. Mayweather was only a child when Tyson reached his all-too-brief prime during the late 1980s. But the heavyweight crown rested uneasily upon the head of "Iron Mike." A famous cartoon from that time period shows Tyson standing in his usual pose over a fallen foe. The fallen foe is ... Tyson. Tyson's turmoil outside the ring contributed to his upset loss to Buster Douglas, and was also a factor in Tyson's subsequent decline from the destroyer who made his opponents look like tenpins getting hit by a bowling ball to a one-punch-at-a-time plodder who couldn't handle adversity. Can Mayweather's upcoming courtroom battles have a similar effect on him in the ring? Thus far, that seems unlikely. After all, Tyson neglected the skills that led his fans to rank him with the all-time greats of his division. Mayweather, in contrast, is always in shape and has never gone unprepared into a fight, regardless of the quality of the opponent. Also, Tyson folded whenever his foes stood up to him. When things don't go Mayweather's way, he adjusts, as he did in ...

  • Big Time Sick Day~One Shot~ Final Part Kendall groaned uneasily again as he managed to escape during the 5 minute break from the photoshoot. He let out a rapid fire of nearly 6 sneezes, then calmed himself, cursing the congestion that was beginning to plague him. It was nearly unbearable to wear the leather jacket for the photoshoot now. He was absolutely drenched in his own perspiration, and shivering like a maniac. Man, he really wished for that tea and soup right now. Most of all, he wanted his bed.. He didn't think he ever wanted to sleep so much in his entire life. (Though his life hadn't been very long, thusfar.) Carlos was the next person to shake him out of his thoughts. "Did they turn up the heat in here? It's crazy," Kendall caught himself casually, but let out a nervous laugh. "Actually man, I feel fine. It's actually pretty cold in here. You okay?" his friend raised an eyebrow questioningly. Kendall swallowed painfully against his raw throat then nodded, "Yeah, let's go, before Gustavo throws another temper tantrum." "I heard that!" Gustavo suddenly roared, now coming down the hall. Kendall groaned inwardly. "You!" he pointed at Carlos, "Back to the shoot," there was a short pause and Kendall thought about making a run for it, but before he was even fully turned around, Gustavo grabbed the collar of his shirt. "Monkey dog! Stay." He growled, still keeping a firm grasp on the neck of Kendall's shirt. Kendall's all-to-familiar inward groan returned. He knew he was going to be caught now. . He bit his ...
  • Choices?! A Jonas Horror Story (Chapter 43) marathon 1/ 3 Kevin's pov "Shh Annie stop it's just me" I spoke calmly trying my best to keep hold of her as I looked into the bewildered eyes off both Nick and Mel "Kevin" Annie whispered almost scared as she turned in my arms to face me. As soon as her eyes met mine they filled with tears and she flung her arms around my neck burying her head into my neck. "How did you escape" nick's voice brought me back into the room and at once a sense of relief rush through me seeing him there standing healthy. "Nick" I cried opening my arms wide pulling both him and Mel into the hug with Annie We stood like that for a moment before I realised something pulling away from the hug "why is Mel gagged and tied up" I asked looking at her panicked eyes before turning to nick who was rubbing the back of his neck with his free hand his other holding tightly to Mel's arm "Erm...well she thinks she's one of them" he explained his voice uneasy "What?" I asked startled looking towards Annie and she nodded "She trusts the bad guys she cant remember a thing about us" Annie explained "Post traumatic stress or something like that I'm sure Chloe could help her when we meet up with them" nick spoke so full of hope and all at once the tone became serious "Just how did you guys get here" I asked and Annie turned to Nick before turning back to face me "It isn't just him anymore he brought in reinforcement I'm not sure how many" Annie admitted troubled "The one who was sent to move me wasn't actually well built and I ...

  • A Time to Break the Silence A true revolution of values will soon look uneasily on the glaring contrast of poverty and wealth. It will look across the seas and see individual capitalists of the West investing huge sums of money in Asia, Africa, and South America, only to take the profits out with no concern for the social betterment of the countries, and say, "This is not just." It will look at our alliance with the landed gentry of South America and say, "This is not just." The Western arrogance of feeling that it has everything to teach others and nothing to learn from them is not just. A true revolution of values will lay hand on the world order and say of war, "This way of settling differences is not just." This business of burning human beings with napalm, of filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows, of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into the veins of peoples normally humane, of sending men home from dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice, and love. A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death. Song: Grup Yorum - Halay

  • The Human Spark Episode 2 So Human So Chimp PBS Part 1/4 HD Playlist All 4 Parts The Human Spark So Human So Chimp Please subscribe to Youtube channel WhyEvolutionIsTrue for more documentaries on evolution. We are separated from our nearest relatives, the chimpanzees, by only one or two percent of our genes -- but also by some 6 million years of going our different evolutionary ways. So when we meet the eyes of a chimp we are reminded uncannily -- and perhaps a little uneasily -- of ourselves. But we are also aware that behind those eyes is a mind very different from our own. Alan Alda sets out to explore that difference, and quickly finds that the scientists studying chimps and other non-human primates are themselves separated into opposing worldviews. One camp emphasizes the continuity between us -- seeing everything we believe to be uniquely human present in at least a rudimentary form in our ape and even monkey cousins. The other camp sees a sharp discontinuity in our abilities, admiring chimps for their superb adaptation to their (rapidly disappearing) forest environment, but also granting to human minds a special status that has enabled us to conquer the planet (and cause those forests to disappear). What is the nature of human uniqueness? Where did "The Human Spark" ignite, and when? And perhaps most tantalizingly, why? In this three-part series, Alan Alda takes these questions personally, visiting with dozens of scientists on three continents, and participating directly in many experiments ...
  • Cute Doggy Wtf kitty Black Dog of Hanging Hills A Connecticut Ghost Story retold by SE Schlosser He smiled as he sipped at his coffee. Followed me all the way up the mountain and down again." He looked up from his coffee to see the innkeeper's face had gone pale. "A black dog?" she asked. "That's not good." "Why not?" "We have a saying around here," she replied. She shrugged and took the coffee pot over to ...
  • LBJ Talks to Martin Luther King, Jr. about the Vietnam War Telephone Conversation - July 1965 Starting in 1965, King began to express doubts about the United States' role in the Vietnam War. In an April 4, 1967 appearance at the New York City Riverside Church—exactly one year before his death—King delivered a speech titled "Beyond Vietnam." In the speech, he spoke strongly against the US's role in the war, insisting that the US was in Vietnam "to occupy it as an American colony" and calling the US government "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today." He also argued that the country needed larger and broader moral changes: "A true revolution of values will soon look uneasily on the glaring contrast of poverty and wealth. With righteous indignation, it will look across the seas and see individual capitalists of the West investing huge sums of money in Asia, Africa and South America, only to take the profits out with no concern for the social betterment of the countries, and say: 'This is not just.'" King also was opposed to the Vietnam War on the grounds that the war took money and resources that could have been spent on social welfare services like the War on Poverty. The United States Congress was spending more and more on the military and less and less on anti-poverty programs at the same time. He summed up this aspect by saying, "A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death." Many white southern segregationists ...

  • How Can It Feel This Raw? I was inspired to write a short narrative about dead and suicide. It is written in the style of David Sedaris. Music: Portishead -- Roads Hello Friends. This is Zarbod. I recently attended a dinner party with a few close friends and one outsider named Marlene. Marline was a friend of the hostess and she was trying to reach out to her "now". Marlene had recently returned from a stay at an inpatient medical facility for people who "well" had issues to resolve. She had recently attempted to take her own life. Marlene presented herself in a silk and taffeta blouse which was overstated. Its opulence exsenuated the intensity of the situation rather than lessened it. Much like mothers on sinking ships telling their children that everything will be ok. I wondered if her attempt was real or just a cry for help. I once heard a lady tell of her attempt to end it all by sticking her head in the oven. But she gave up the attempt when she realized that life is precious and she wanted to live. She also found that ending ones life in an electric oven requires a much higher level of commitment than it would in a gas oven. It was a simple but elegant meal. Not extravagant by any means but lovingly shared from the heart of one who wished she had done more. But hadn't. O the exaggerations of regret like gifts from a long absent father. She asked if we wanted to know what happened. We denied it sincerely and shook our heads though secretly longing to know. She said she was just tired. Tired ...

  • Bruce Lee Philosophy Quotes "All knowledge ultimately means self knowledge," said Lee in an interview. For Lee, "to be a martial artist means also to be an artist of life." The philosophy promoted by Lee was repugnant to many people already mired in traditional habits of thought. Angry or not, they could not deny the success of Lee. His understanding of martial arts was too profound for traditional views to keep him back. The logic of Lee's philosophy, which he uneasily labeled jeet kune do (he was cautious of giving his philosophy a title for fear of its crystallization into yet another style), is quite simple: "The art of Jeet Kune Do is simply to simplify." There are striking similarities between the ways and methods of Buddhism (esp. Zen) and Bruce Lee's philosophy on fighting and life. It is the way of not simply stating what has been, but of observing what is; of clearing away what binds your thoughts. Words can not describe reality, and styles can not describe real fighting. "If one loves, one need not have an ideology of love." "Neither. I think of myself as a human being." - when asked if he thought of himself as Chinese or American In Jeet Kune Do, it's not how much you have learned, but how much you have absorbed from what you have learned. It is not how much fixed knowledge you can accumulate, but what you can apply livingly that counts. 'Being' is more valued than "doing". * None whatsoever. o When asked what major religion he was affiliated with in 1972 by journalist Alex Ben Block, p ...
