  • Close Your Eyes This is another original song. I recorded it in a bad mood, hence the unsmiling face. However, it's a moody song, isn't it? One day I'd love to rock this song out with an entire band. I think those are all my thoughts on this particular video. Also, haircut from Jules. Sweet, right? Enjoy.
  • Smile at Me Is smiling an issue for your child? "Smile at Me" is an engaging way to practice this social skill in a safe setting -- with fun rewards! Smiling can be difficult for many children. Some children -- particularly those with autism spectrum issues -- may feel uncomfortable and resist smiling when it is appropriate. They may also smile when it is inappropriate to do so. Some children also have difficulty interpreting the social cues that signal when a smile is or is not appropriate. "Smile at Me" provides quick repeated practice in interpreting these social cues, and rewards children for practicing appropriate smiling. The game is simple. The player is asked to hold the iPhone or iPod Touch like a mirror -- so that he can see his mouth reflected in the glass. He is then shown a picture. The picture may call for a smile -- for example, a girl waving. Or the picture may not call for a smile -- for example, a boy fallen from his bicycle. The player is asked to form his mouth into the correct shape -- to smile or not to smile -- based on the picture. The picture dims every few seconds to allow the player to view his own reflection and monitor his mouth's shape. The player is asked to compare his mouth's reflection with two images - one showing a child's smile, the other showing a child's unsmiling mouth -- and touch the image that matches his mouth. If the player is correct, he is rewarded with a star; if not, he is given further verbal support to interpret the pictures and ...
  • Video of 'El Grande' drug lord captured in Mexico Mexican authorities presented a hand-cuffed leader of the Beltran-Leyva drug cartel to the media on Monday. Mexico's capture of two rival drug gang leaders in two weeks may mark a new trend in the country's drug war: drug lords surrendering without a fight when surrounded. The leader of the Beltran-Leyva drug cartel, Sergio Villarreal Barragan, was arrested on Sunday by Mexican authorities. He was taken by about 30 Mexican marines without a shot fired in a raid at a house in the central state of Puebla. That came a little over two weeks after the August 30 arrest of his rival, Edgar Valdez Villarreal, a US-born trafficker known as "La Barbie," who also gave up when stopped by police. The unsmiling Villarreal Barragan towers over marines flanking him, living up to his nickname "El Grande," or "the Big One." He was also known as "King Kong" and "The Child Eater." • Obama Slam Dunks Trump & Releases 'Birth Video' at Annual Dinner President Barack Obama poked fun at everyone, from his wife to Donald Trump, during the annual White House Correspondents dinner, before ending his speech with a tribute to journalists who brave deadly conditions to get a story. No one was safe from the president's zings on Saturday night, including Republican presidential challengers. Days after releasing his long-form birth certificate to refute claims he wasn't born in the United States, the president began his address by showing what he called his birth video. But rather than footage of a baby Barack being born in Hawaii, the clip was from Disney's "The Lion King," showing the grand unveiling of the baby Simba in Africa. The speech was before a crowd of about 2600 at the packed Washington Hilton ballroom. Obama then singled out an unsmiling Trump and credited him with making hard decisions, such as firing Gary Busey over Meatloaf on an episode of "The Celebrity Apprentice" and succeeding in his push for the president to release his long-form birth certificate. "Now, he can focus on more important matters like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?" Obama said, referring to Neil Armstrong's 1969 walk on the moon, the alleged UFO crash in New Mexico and the deaths of rappers Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur. Quality.
  • Broken; A Jemi Story Part 17 Hey! Sorry I didn't post this for like two months! I had a huge writer's block! I'm still kinda having it but it's better! This episode is more like a filler and isn't really important to the story plot. It just shows Nick and Demi's relationship a bit more. Enjoy! Broken Part 17 I attempted to smile as I got out of Nick's car. With some help from Selena, I had managed to reapply my make-up. I wish I had listened to Nick and stayed at home but I didn't want to spoil his dinner. We walked upto a fancy resteraunt and I stiffened. I'd been here before and I didn't want to come here again. Don't get me wrong. The night I came here was the best night of my life... But things change. I snapped out of my own little world as Selena tugged on my arm. I sighed and followed her. We were lead to a reserved table by an unsmiling waiter. I couldn't critisize him at that moment in time because I too was unsmiling. We sat down at a small square table. Selena and Nick sat next to each other and I sat opposite them, holding Liam. Selena was holding Alex on her lap and I watched Nick and her play with my little girl. They were so perfect together. Nick was a great guy. He was actually committed to their relationship, you could see it from every little thing Nick did that Joe didn't. I watched them play with Alex some more an though about how they'd have their own child soon in the future. I smiled at the thought. I watched Nick lean in to give Selena a quick peck on the lips before picking ...
  • Stone DVD Release Trailer Edward Norton looks good behind bars. In "Stone," a brooding, low-key intrigue, Mr. Norton wears cornrows and tattoos, and much as he did in his screen debut, "Primal Fear," keeps his performance in check. He plays the title character in the new movie, an arsonist turned inmate who's grown weary of waiting to be released. As far as Stone can tell, or as far as the movie initially suggests, the only thing standing between him and the outside world is an unsmiling parole officer, Jack Mabry (Robert De Niro ), who, when he's not shuffling papers, listens — in his car and at home — to Christian talk radio.

  • Rage Band - Rage Rocks Rizal "Separate Ways" Spring is almost here! Do I throw away my collection of vintage videotapes or check if I can salvage anything from them. In a time of high definition TV and HD cameras, this will be a tough project to edit old school stuff. So let me check the Rage Band. The idea of forming a rock group fronted by three female singers was gestated in San Francisco, California by Atek Jacinto (founder and musical director of the legendary Circus Band) and by Ceres Almendral-Jacinto. Relocating to Manila and after rigorous local talent auditioning, the group was formally established by Atek and Ceres in 1982. The group was named by Atek Jacinto as the Rage Band. As always, appropriate performance and music training went under the exacting guidance and high-bar expectations of Atek Jacinto. It was like a music performance boot-camp. The popular music trends in Manila at that time were jazz, the middle of the road standards, pop ballads and OPM. The ROCK music genre was very much misunderstood and maligned by the local music industry . . . not until RAGE pushed and challenged performing artists to reinvent themselves. The Rage Band's coming out to the public at Philippine Plaza was a pleasant shock, a surprise and an indescribable event to those who attended the debut concert. The audience soaked-in the high-energy and electricity that the band generated. Like wildfire the news spread about this new band that was so different from the rest of the Manila bands. After the Rage Band debut almost ...

There follows the vaguest of unsmiling acknowledgements in the general direction of the audience, and then the music begins. Throughout the next two hours, this music will keep its listener enthralled with its extraordinary intensity as the audience senses the formidable physical, pianistic, musical and emotional presence of this most secretive of present-day pianists, Grigory Sokolov.

  • Love Like Suicide - "Suicide is the proof of life" Dir En Grey - The Final Please, read the lyrics! (Not by me) Gazing at unbound intentions... I can't write characters with my left hand When blood flows, there is a reason to live... The words that I find are brilliant Even if the person that I love Magnificently scatters in my hand Even if I carve the meaning of living into my hand I'll become lifelessly beautiful The Final Even if it increases one at a time... How can I become unsmiling bait? I can't go back from this deep prison in my heart I am a defeated person, whose self-torturing hasn't been Touched by tomorrow Suicide is the proof of life Even if the person that I love Magnificently scatters in my hand Even if I carve the meaning of living into my hand It will scatter in my lifeless beauty So I can't live... Yes, I can't produce lost things I'm not even desiring proof of being alive in this song Let's put an end... The Final

  • Terence McKenna: Interview 16th June 1999 A longtime sufferer of migraines, in mid-1999 McKenna returned to his home on the big island of Hawaii after a long lecturing tour. He began to suffer from increasingly painful headaches. This culminated in three brain seizures in one night, which he claimed were the most powerful psychedelic experiences he had ever known. Upon his emergency trip to the hospital on Oahu, Terence was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, a highly aggressive form of brain cancer. For the next several months he underwent various treatments, including experimental gamma knife radiation treatment. He died on April 3, 2000, at the age of 53, with his loved ones at his bedside. He is survived by his brother Dennis, his son Finn, and his daughter Klea. " I always thought death would come on the freeway in a few horrifying moments, so you'd have no time to sort it out. Having months and months to look at it and think about it and talk to people and hear what they have to say, it's a kind of blessing. It's certainly an opportunity to grow up and get a grip and sort it all out. Just being told by an unsmiling guy in a white coat that you're going to be dead in four months definitely turns on the lights. ... It makes life rich and poignant. • Coney Island (1917) Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle (part 2 of 2) Coney Island (also known as Fatty at Coney Island) is a 1917 short silent film comedy written and directed by Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, and starring Arbuckle and Buster Keaton. The twenty-four minute film follows Arbuckle's antics at Coney Island, the New York City amusement park and beach resort, where he sneaks away from his wife to enjoy the attractions, gets a rival for another woman arrested, and disguises himself as a woman. The Keystone Kops are also featured. Coney Island was filmed before Keaton had fully established his screen persona. Because of this, he employs a wide range of facial expressions, including mugging and laughing, differing drastically from his subsequent unsmiling, but still eloquent, expression. Arbuckle breaks the fourth wall in one scene where, about to change his clothes, he directly looks at the camera and gestures for it to raise its view above his waist; the camera obligingly does so.

This is a service where you get your bag security cleared for your onward flight days in advance and leave it with the airport. This in not at the luggage services stand near the baggage carousel, but round the corner, here we are shooed by another unsmiling customs official who appears impatient that we are not getting out of the airport as quickly as possible. • The Sky and I (Original Poem) The Sky and I The sky she stood beneath was: cornflower blue, and boundless. It was not cut up, blocked by bodies of unsmiling steel- The cities of her youth. Those postage stamp-shaped promises watched from a bedroom window, shed longed to stick that patch of blue against her heart forever. To stand beneath the open sky. Here, possibility stretched its palm against the smooth earth- Beneath the smooth sky. Here the wide future beckoned- An unexpectedly terrifying beast, with all its expectations. The sky loomed low, pressing shamed tears from her eyes which had long learned how to pretend to hope. The weight was like pale oceans, like atmospheres- bright and clear and dangerous. Lightheaded, she dared not to breathe the open air. She turned her back on the worlds open hand. Back to the safely of unsmiling steel. Away from the sky that was too big, here. Hopes can be frightening, when they become real.
  • President Obama Gets Snippy With Reporter Daily News @ RevolutionNews.US — Ahead of next year's presidential election, the White House has launched a concerted effort to leap over national media and reach out to local journalists in hopes of receiving more favorable coverage. But that effort may have backfired a bit yesterday, when President Obama was caught on camera testily reprimanding a Texas reporter for apparently not giving him sufficient time to answer questions. "Let me finish my answers the next time we do an interview, all right?" Obama told Brad Watson, a reporter with Belo TV, which owns several Texas TV stations including Dallas's WFAA and San Antonio's KENS. The interview, one of four Obama conducted with local TV reporters Monday, had already been a bit heated by that moment. "Why do you think you're so unpopular in Texas?" Watson asked Obama, at one point. The president replied by acknowledging that Texas had long been a "pretty Republican state," but he implied that the politics there were changing, adding that he'd only lost by a "few percentage points" in 2008. But that statement, as Watson noted, wasn't exactly true. Obama actually lost Texas to John McCain by 11 points during the last campaign--as the reporter pointed out. "If what you are telling me is Texas is a conservative state, you're absolutely right," Obama replied, unsmiling. Terri remains headstrong, but even she fails to see the funny side of Lexie Patterson's vitriolic mischief, and whilst The Women remain unsmiling at the prospect of Mrs. Reynold's wrath, the governor herself appears to be more annoyed at the inefficiency of the gossip circuit than at the prisoners' spiteful treatment of her staff. Read the full blog here: This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Siem Reap, Cambodia Entry Title: "Angkor What?" Entry: "I left Bangkok early knowing I was in for a long day. The bus ride to Aranyaprathet, on the Thailand border, was a smooth, four-hour ride in an airconditioned bus with a bathroom. It dropped us at the tuk-tuk station, these motorbikes with trailer thingies, and I got on one with an Israeli guy just trying to renew his Thai visa, and a New York kid who was heading in my direction. I don't think I've ever walked across a border between two countries, and if I ever have to again, Aranyaprathet to Poipet is not the place I want to do it. They say the best part of Poipet is leaving it, and I quickly came to understand the truth of this axiom. On the Thai side, an unsmiling border agent relieved me of my departure card, and then we walked across a no man's land of dust, trundled carts, and listless people. At the entrance to Cambodia, and equally unsmiling border agent took forever with my passport, stamped it about ten times, then handed it back and set me free. And then the fun began. The New York kid and I had teemed up by now, so he got a name, Dani. He said I reminded him of a friend back home, and he reminded me of Elijah Wood in 'Everything is Illuminated.' We missed the bus to Siem Reap, the town known as the gateway to Angkor Wat ...

"yep" I replied shuffling through my papers. As she flipped through my travel documents, noticing all of my visas, she snarled, "How long have you been planning this?" "about 2 years" I answered. She didn't seem impressed. More troubling was that she, the unsmiling Air Canada ticket agent, was hardly in a good mood. And that was that, adrenaline pumping, heading for my gate, those words stuck to me, as I thought of how I would be, what I will have seen and done when I would return to the same airport in Montreal on my way home, after 9 months of travelling. Like all other trips, when they start, I always find myself thinking "only 3 more weeks then back to work", and like clockwork, sitting in the airport, I found myself thinking the same thing, but this time it was different.
